Development prospect of konjak industry in China
Since the formation of Chinese konjak industry in the mid-1980s, after more than 30 years of ups and downs, it has developed rapidly. Recently, great progress and considerable development have been made in the planting scale of konjak, the development and application scope of konjak product quality and style, and the opening of the market. According to incomplete statistics, the planting area of konjak has grown from sporadic planting to today's large-scale planting area of more than 1.5 million mu (1 mu =667 square meters), and the total industrial and agricultural output value has reached tens of billions of yuan. It is a small crop industry.
The planting area of nearly 20 key counties of konjak planting bases in China in 2010 was nearly 1million mu (mainly flower konjak, and a few konjak). The planting area of Hubei Province, the national planting base, accounted for one third of the country, and the scale of the provincial base reached more than 500000 mu. Because konjak is a special economic crop with glucomannan, known as "health food" and "industrial monosodium glutamate", and it has the characteristics of regional and special planting, long industrial chain, high processing appreciation and wide application prospect, which has led to widespread concern of the society and people in all circles one by one.
The rising prices of konjak commodity taro and konjak products have effectively promoted the development of konjak planting and processing industry to a certain extent. Looking forward to the "12th Five Year Plan" and the future development trend of konjak industry, we all have reason to believe that konjak, a sunrise industry, will develop into a "cash cow" for agricultural efficiency, farmers' income, enterprises' profits, fiscal taxes, poverty alleviation in poor mountainous areas and prosperity, and a pillar industry for export and foreign exchange earning. China's konjak industry will have a broader development future.
